We completely missed this trailer last week which is a great shame because it actually looks like a lot of fun.
This reboot/remake/re-imagining of the hit late 80s TV series 21 Jump St, which incidentally launched Johnny Depp’s career, stars Jonah Hill and Channing , (The Tates), Tatum as two young looking police rookies who are assigned to go undercover at a high school to bust open a drugs ring. Unlike the series this looks like it’s entirely played for laughs and with a supporting cast of Ice Cube, Rob Riggle and a rumoured cameo role by Johnny Depp himself and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the pair responsible for the excellent animated movie Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, it surely can’t be all that bad. Can it?
N.B. We’ve just noticed in the trailer that actor Nick Offerman pops up as the grumpy police chief, if you’re not already familiar with Offerman’s work, most notably as the legendary Ron Swanson in the American TV comedy series Parks And Recreation, then here’s a little taster of the great man doing what he does best.
