Following the recent chaos surrounding the Playstation Network, which was hacked by an anonymous source and was completely disabled for 24 days preventing users from playing games online and purchasing extras, Sony will be offering gamers throughout Europe of the following:
Two PS3 games from the following list:
Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
Or for those with PSP accounts, you will also be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list:
These games will be available from the Playstation Store as soon as it’s back up and running. As well as some free games PS3 users will also get 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PS Plus subscribers. Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will be given 60 days free subscription. For existing Music Unlimited subscribers, you will be given 30 days free subscription and Sony is working on a welcome back offer in PlayStation Home, (do people actually still use Home?).
You’ll have to claim your free content within 30 days of the store going back online. Of course the US package differs a little and there is still no word on how PS3 owners in Asia will be compensated.
